New heat pumps from M-TEC: Maximum efficiency for intelligent energy solutions

Austrian manufacturer M-TEC will be launching the new ECO air source heat pump range with outputs from 2 to 7 kW from July 2024. With the 5 kW booster heat pump, the industry pioneer has also developed a new auxiliary device for hot water preparation in apartment blocks.

With the ECO line, the Upper Austrian manufacturer M-TEC offers its partners an alternative for price-sensitive projects.

The compact air source heat pump for detached houses has a tested annual efficiency of 4.7 and is quick and easy to install.  For larger projects, the ECO line can also be cascaded up to 12 times. It weighs just 90 kg and does not require a technical room for installation. M-TEC will be offering a range from 2 to 7 kW starting in July 2024.

Because the pump works with the refrigerant propane R290, it achieves flow temperatures of up to 75°C. Like all of the company’s heat pumps, the ECO line is also equipped with the control technology developed by M-TEC, which makes remote maintenance possible. In combination with the E-SMART energy management system, it is another part of M-TEC’s modular system for renewable energy solutions.

Booster heat pump for apartment blocks

The new booster heat pump with an output of 5.1 kW is the ideal addition for DHW heating in apartment blocks. The compact device, when activated by the heat pump, elevates the temperature of the water in the hot water buffer cylinder to approximately 70°C from the heating buffer. In combination with the fresh water module, the hot water can be heated to approx. 65°C, which protects the water circuit from legionella. If the system is linked to a PV system, the booster heat pump can utilise the self-generated solar power for DHW heating.

New version of the WPS ground and groundwater pump

Externally, the new WPS V2 is indistinguishable from previous models. However, under the hood of the WPS412-V2 and WPS618-V2, many additional features are integrated. Two circulation pumps, a 3-way valve for hot water, an expansion vessel for brine, an 8.8 kW electric heating element, and a heat meter make on-site installation easier.

“Our new V2 ground source heat pumps simplify installation and save space. The installation is reduced to connecting the flow and return lines as well as the power supply,” says M-TEC CEO Peter Huemer. The new models will be available from the third quarter of 2024.

Intelligently connected for high self-consumption rates

Thanks to the intelligent control of the M-TEC heat pump, it can be integrated into our comprehensive energy management system, E-Smart. This allows the self-generated electricity to be used for space heating and hot water preparation. Only after the hot water tank is charged and the house is comfortably warm does the system feed into the grid. The integration of battery storage and communication with electric vehicle charging stations is also possible.

M-TEC at the Intersolar Europe

From direct current meters with integrated energy management to intelligent e-charging stations and PV inverters: In addition to the new heat pumps, M-TEC will be presenting numerous other product highlights at Intersolar Europe, the world’s leading trade fair for the solar industry. Visitors can find the company from 19 to 21 June at the exhibition centre in Munich in Hall B5, Stand B5.450.

With over 50 years of experience and 30,000 installed systems, M-TEC makes natural resources economically usable for buildings. As a pioneer in the field of heat pumps, the company stands for the highest quality, confirmed by independent testing institutes. M-TEC offers maximum efficiency, low-noise operation, solutions for new and old buildings, a wide range of models and performance classes, durable and high-quality products as well as comprehensive service, training and marketing support.
